President's Message
Welcome to the 2013 Surrey Minor Ball Hockey Season. As always I want to welcome all of you, both new and returning families. On behalf of the executive I would like to encourage you to have a wonderful season.
This year promises to be one of the largest and most action packed seasons yet. In addition to adding more practices and games to our regular season we are happy to have been able to add additional players, which means more Surrey youth are getting exposure to one of Canada's greatest past times....ball hockey.
We will be hosting the 3rd Annual SMBHA Awards banquet in June and will be sending 5 teams to Medicine Hat, Alberta to play in the Western Cup Challenge Tournament in July. And don't be surprised if you see some familiar names and faces participating for the BC National team playing in Oakville, Ontario this summer at the Canadian Ball Hockey Association Junior Nationals.
Last season I was pleased to announce that we had our very own trophy case (located at Cloverdale Arena) and this season I am happy to be able to say that we will be having SMBHA banners hung at our Surrey Arenas commemorating over 20 years of ball hockey.

We are 100% volunteer run and we are only limited by the number of volunteers, coaches and referees that assist in running the season.
We also are looking for volunteers, please email us at admin@smbha.org and let us know what you are interested in volunteering for (eg. help with website, organizing sponsors or fundraising, help with scheduling, help with general administration, etc.).
The following is a possible Divisional game/practice schedule for 2013:
Subject to change as needed to optimize available floor times. Listed days represent possible days in which a team in that division may have a game or practice. Teams will have 2 - 3 games (or practice) per week.
Tykes/Mini-Tykes - Sunday mornings at Newton Arena
Peanut - Saturday mornings, Sunday afternoons, Monday, Wednesday and Friday early evenings
Pup - Saturday mornings, Sunday afternoons, Tuesday and Friday evenings
Peewee - Saturday afternoons, Tuesday and Thursday evenings
Minor - Saturday late afternoons, Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings
Major - Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings
Junior - Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings
The 2013 Season will start March 24 with a week of practice times, and games will commence after the Easter long weekend. This coming season will see more games and practices then in the past.
The BC Provincial Championship will be held in DELTA during the July long weekend in 2013. The divisional winners from our season will participate in this championship.
