PLAYERS;
Please make sure that you have the correct equipment for the start of the season. You must have the following;
- CSA Approved Hockey helmet with Full face protection, (Not a Baseball or bike helmet)
- Approved Shin Pads, D Gels are the best, but soccer ones will do. If you have hard shin pads, they MUST be covered by socks, (Soccer socks work great for this)
- A Proper hockey stick (No Plastic Blades) Please ensure that the blade of the stick is in good condition, worn down sticks will not be allowed. Please do not use Black tape on the bottom of the stick as it marks up the floors
- Hockey Gloves
- Good running shoes
- Optional Equipment, Knee and Elbow pads, Jocks (Athletic cups)
Team BC tryouts announcement for U15, U17 & U19 Divisions
As we come off of a great showing at the 2009 Junior Nationals that took place in Edmonton and BC’s first ever Junior National Gold Medal (U15 Wolverines-see bottom page), we are glad to be hosting OPEN TRYOUTS for the 2010 teams. All three teams will host 3 Open Tryout dates for ball hockey players wishing to play for BC in the 2010 Junior Nationals in Waterloo, Ontario this August longweekend. This game is the game you played as a kid, this game that is played on streets all over the country. This the true Canadian past-time, this is BALL HOCKEY! Now you can play without having to move the net because of traffic and no more chasing the ball down the hill after a missed shot.
This is 5 on 5 hockey is for BOYS & GIRLS, using regular ice hockey sticks and a plastic orange ball. The players wear RUNNING SHOES and play on the smooth concrete surface after the ice is removed from the arenas in the spring. Minor ball hockey is NON CONTACT.
Mandatory equipment for all players in ALL divisions (including goalies): a CSA approved helmet with full facial protector and hockey gloves, light duty shin and elbow pads, and athletic support with cup.
